Man hospitalised after road crash in Chipping Norton

At around 10pm last Friday, officers were called to the A44 Moreton Road in Chastleton where a black moped had been in a collision with another vehicle which had left the scene.

The male rider of the moped sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Investigating officer, Sgt Graham Holt of the Roads Policing Unit in Bicester said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything relating to this incident.

“We are particularly interested in anyone who saw a black moped or a black car at the relevant times. Also if anyone saw a black car parked in Moreton-in-Marsh shortly after 10pm on Friday with damage to the front passenger side please contact police.”

A 45-year-old man from Carmarthenshire in Wales has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a collision.

He has been bailed until 27 March.
