Man hospitalised after Chipping Norton crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Chipping Norton on Friday.

It happened at 1.45pm on the B4450 from Chipping Norton towards Churchill and involved a blue Troll sports car and silver Land Rover Discovery.

The driver of the Troll, a man aged in his twenties, sustained arm and ankle injuries and was trapped in the vehicle. He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with serious injuries which are not life-threatening. He remains in hospital.

A passenger in the Land Rover, a woman aged in her forties, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital. The driver of the Land Rover was uninjured.

The road was closed in the area while officers investigated the circumstances of the collision.

Invesetigating officer, PC Wayne Mills, from the Joint Operations Unit for Road Policing, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles travelling prior to the collision as they may have information which could assist the investigation.”
