Man hit with broken bottle during town centre fight

Police are appealing for witnesses following a Banbury town centre fight where a man was hit with a broken bottle

Thames Valley Police said that around 3.45pm last Sunday (May 15) on High Street, there was an altercation between one group believed to be around of five to seven men and a woman, and another group of two men.

A fight broke out during which a 23-year-old man, who was part of the group of two men, was hit in the face with a broken bottle.

He received injuries to his face, which required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged.

Police are looking for a group of five to seven white men aged between 18 and 30-years old.

Investigating officer Det Sgt Robert Platt, of Force CID based at Banbury police station, said; “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this assault to come forward which happened on High Street in Banbury at the junction of Calthorpe Street.

“If you did see this incident which was in the middle of Banbury then we would ask you to call us on 101.”
