Police are looking for a man who fled the scene of a car accident at Junction 11 on the M40 on Sunday morning.

At around 4.30am, a green Ford Focus was travelling from the roundabout towards Wardington on the A361 when it strayed into the opposite lane and collided with a white VW Passat coming in the other direction.

The Ford Focus ended up in the ditch at the side of the road and the driver left the vehicle and fled the scene.

The man who fled is of mixed race, slim, in his mid to late twenties and he was wearing dark yellow trousers.

Investigating officer, PC Duncan Vale from the Roads Policing Unit at Bicester, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to or at the time of the collision.

“The driver has failed to remain at the scene and left prior to police arrival. If anyone has seen a man matching this description in the vicinity after the collision or may have picked anyone up and given them a lift, I would encourage them to make contact with me via 101.

“If you don’t feel comfortable speaking to the police then you can always contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
