At around 9.07am on Wednesday November 11 a silver Mercedes ML270 was travelling in lane two of the northbound carriageway between junctions 10, Brackley and 11, Banbury, when it left the carriageway and travelled up an embankment.

It came to rest on its roof on the hard shoulder.

The driver, a 53-year-old woman, sustained serious spinal and head injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, where she sadly died on Friday, November 11.

Thames Valley Police’s Roads Policing officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the single vehicle collision.

Investigating officer PC Wayne Martin, from the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Bicester, said: “I would still like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or who saw the vehicle travelling prior to the collision.

“We previously appealed for the driver of a black Audi who was driving close to the scene and would like to thank the public for sharing the appeal as we have located this driver.”

Anyone with any information about the collision should contact PC Martin via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting URN 271 9/11.
