A 50-year-old man died in last night’s (Sunday) collision on the M40 when his vehicle left the road and ended up on its roof.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened at about 8.20pm, after the silver Volkswagen Golf left the northbound carriageway between junctions ten and 11, half a mile before the Banbury turn off.

The car came off the road to the nearside, went down an embankment, overturned and ended up on its roof.

The only occupant, a 50-year-old man from Headington, Oxford, died at the scene.

Anyone with any information about this incident and who has not yet come forward to police is asked to contact PC Sian Pringle from the Roads Policing Unit via 101, quoting URN 1228 7/2.
