From Aristophanes and Shakespeare to Vaudeville and Charlie Chaplin, there are plenty of laughs to be had with the Reduced Shakespeare Company’s latest production.
Following a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2014, the group’s current show will see them present the entire history of comedy in just 90 minutes.
Nicknamed ‘the bad boys of abridgement’, the three-man comedy troupe are renowned for taking on lengthy, serious topics and converting them into short, sharp comedies.
The company’s first three shows enjoyed a nine-year run at London’s Criterion Theatre.
Their latest effort draws on a diverse range of comic material through the ages: from cavemen telling ‘Rock Rock’ jokes to Chris Rock and everything in between, the company vow to leave no joke untold.
The Complete History of Comedy (abridged) will take place at The Theatre, Chipping Norton on Friday, May 15.
