In a statement released by police, Kyle’s parents Alan and Ronnie and his girlfriend Laurie Peach said Mr Byfield was ‘a loving, caring son who would do anything for friends and family’.

It said: “Both families would like to say how much we appreciate all the love and support from the local community that has been shown. We are overwhelmed by the generosity people have shown towards Kyle.

“We cannot name you all but here are a few: Steve Hunt, the Sawyer family, Tracey Yeomans and Chris Phillips.

“Kyle was our first child who adored his young sister Aleah, who we lost to asthma ten years ago. He was a loving, caring son who would do anything for friends and family.

“He had a fantastic character and was a happy go lucky young man. He was the joker and life and soul of the party.

“Family and friends will always remember him for his cheeky smile and charm. Kyle loved to ‘dress to impress’ and was always fashion conscious.

“He loved his sports and was a very good football and rugby player; he played both from the age of six. He played for Banbury Bulls and many local football teams over the years.

“Kyle loved music and singing and dancing and was always showing ‘his moves.’

“We are all totally devastated and shocked by this tragic loss of our beloved Kyle. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. We will notify everyone of the funeral date when it has been arranged.”

Natasha Capell, 26, of Jubilee Court, Banbury, appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday charged with Mr Byfield’s murder. She is due to reappear back at the same court on July 17.
