A Bloxham firm that repairs iPhones and iPads has donated a brand new iPad to the village pre-school.
iPhone Experts (iPe) are based at Bloxham Mill Business Centre and donated the equipment which is a welcome start for the pre-school fundraising mission to purchase more IT equipment to use in their everyday environment.
The donation came about when Ray Avery, managing director of Bloxham Mill, spoke to Debbie Davies, pre-school supervisor during a fundraising event.
She said: “Ray and Bloxham Mill have been incredibly supportive to our pre-school over the years and we happened to mention our intention to buy iPads to encourage our children to learn via technology, which after all, is inevitable in this digital age.
“Ray in turn, spoke to Steve Anderson, iPe’s founder and managing director, who didn’t hesitate to step up to help. We are thrilled.”
The pre-school has recently been judged as ‘Outstanding’ and currently caters for 49 children. The fundraising mission seeks to buy a further eight iPads and everyday consumables such as paint and paper.
iPe has already agreed to supply further iPads at preferential rates, and Mr Anderson added: “We were delighted to help out. Encouraging children as young as three, to get into IT even before they start school, is a must.”
