When Liane Baker of Norbar Torque Tools (centre above) won an Apple watch at an exhibition, she asked competition organisers Thermaset if she could take its monetary value instead.

She said: “We decided our good fortune might be better marked supporting our local hospice and Thermaset agreed to substitute the prize for its £299 value.”

Thermaset’s Phil Strode added: “It’s great Katherine House Hospice will benefit and we were very happy to help.”
