Hide AdIan Calderbank, president of the Rotary Club of Banbury, said: “The judges were very impressed with the food preparation from all the participants and it is a remarkable achievement for Katelyn as she was competing against people older than her.
“We really appreciated the help of Banbury and Bicester College, especially Peter Harvey, and rotarian Bernard Goodchild who helped organise the event and also the Rotary Club of Banbury Cherwell.”
Banbury town mayor Tony Mepham also attended the evening to see twelve-year-old Katelyn go forward to the district final held in Bracknell on February 27.
If successful, she will go on to the regional final for a chance to be in the grand final held in Leicester on April 23.
