Most people will assume panto season is behind them (no pun intended) but Cherwell Theatre Company is very much looking to the future as they start work on their festive show for 2016.
The group has settled on Cinderella for its 11th pantomime production, with actor and CTC artistic director Tristan Pate returning once again to the director’s chair.
It will be performed in the company’s new home at Wykham Hall, Banbury School from January 8 to January 17.
Its pantomime version of Robin Hood enjoyed a sell-out run at The Mill Arts Centre back in January of this year, and the company is hoping for similar success with Cinderella in 2016.
As in previous years, the family friendly pantomime will see members of CTC’s Youth Group work alongside trained actors.
The youth group, which meets every Monday evening, strive to provide acting opportunities for young people over the age of 14 who want to pursue a career on the stage as well as those who just enjoy performing as a hobby.
A read through and casting session will be held for the show on Sunday, August 23 at Sophie’s Barn in Silver Street, Chacombe from 2pm to 5.30pm.
Anyone interested in auditioning or volunteering behind the scenes is welcome to attend and find out how to get involved with CTC.
