A spirited gentleman from Banbury has been recognised after giving 100 donations of blood to help save other people’s lives.
Ivan Green, 72, of Kennedy Walk, Orchard Way in Banbury is a former painter and decorator and football referee. He gave his first donation back in 1967 and was given a special award at the Oxford Spires Four Pillars Hotel in September.
Mr Green said: “I’m really thrilled with it to be honest. Not many people do this and I think giving blood has benefited me over the years as well. I’m looking forward to giving my 103rd donation in February.”
