A world renowned dance company will be headlining a day of performances at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury.
Motionhouse will be performing its show, Captive, on August 10.
There will be two performances of Captive, which will be performed outdoors on a huge metal structure.
The show is a mixture of dance and acrobatics and is inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem, The Panther, and considers how a human, like an animal, can be plucked from normal life and plunged into captivity.
Following on from the hugely successful shows Underground and Cascade, Captive has been touring the UK and Europe to widespread acclaim since spring 2013. The performances will take place at 3pm and 6.30pm in the carpark at the front of the building.
Cherwell Theatre Company and Young Anjali Dance Company will be performing in The Mill courtyard.
Special ticket offers will be available on the day and there will be also a prize draw to win a voucher for tickets worth up to £100.
The event is part of the Season of Dance at The Mill, which is supported by a grant from Arts Council England.
The Season of Dance will see internationally acclaimed dance companies visit The Mill’s theatre and dance studio. The Season of Dance will present six different shows produced by five dance companies and will organise workshops, open rehearsals and dance sessions from June to November.
