Banbury Market Place became a temporary open air cinema last Saturday during a Banbury Improvement District (BID) event.
From 4pm two films were shown on a giant screen erected outside the Castle Quay entrance near Burger King.
Hundreds of people turned out for the free event bringing all manner of seating devices with them.
The BID had also financed 50 logo emblazoned deck chairs within a priority seating area although the overall capacity for the event was 500.
Reaction to the event has been hugely positive with dozens of comments on the Banbury BID’s social media pages praising the event.
Vicky Hall wrote “An absolutely fantastic evening, hoping many more to come. Well done to all who organised.”
Ann Quinn wrote: “What a great evening. Well done and thank you.”
In response the BID tweeted. “Our outdoor cinema was a big hit! Thank you to everyone who came along and supported it and to the #Banbury businesses that voted for and funded @BanburyBID.”
