Image released after man left Banbury shop without paying for item

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident of shoplifting in Banbury.

Details of the incident, which happened between 9.30am and 9.40am on Wednesday, January 13, were released today (Thursday) after a man entered Buywise Domestics store on Parsons Street.

The offender took a Dyson Air blade fan and left the store without making any attempt to pay.

The man is described as aged between 30 - 40 years old and he was wearing a grey hat and a black Superdry jacket with red writing.

Investigating Officer PC Reece Millar said; “We would like to speak to the man in the CCTV images, or anyone who may recognise him, as we believe he may have information that could assist us with our investigation.

“If you have any information then please contact me via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.

“If you do not want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
