The village of Hornton enjoyed a record-breaking event at their May Day celebrations yesterday (Monday).

Firmly established as one of their biggest events of the year, there was something for everybody on the day, with more than £2,000 raised towards village projects.

Lorraine Joyner is one of the organisers, and said: “The weather really helped and it was great to see everyone involved really pull out the stops to make it a success. It is a such a lovely place to live and with all the money we will hope to move onto the next stage of our project with the village pavilion.”

Pupils at the village school also enjoyed May Day dancing, with Ruby Short and Max Koberl being crowned May Day King and Queen.
