Two Banbury events to commemorate the armed forces and the Second World War will be made extra special with flypasts from historic planes.

A Spitfire will fly over the town three times on Armed Forces Day (Saturday, June 30).

And either a Spitfire or a Hurricane will do a flypast for Battle of Britain Day (Sunday, September), and again will consist of three passes.

Banbury Town Council organises the events and was successful in its applications for the flypasts, which it announced on Tuesday (April 3).
