The owners of a Banbury inn have made it to the final 10 in the eviivo awards.
Castle at Edgehill has been shortlisted for the Quirkiest Place to Stay in the eviivo awards, which celebrate the UK’s best B&Bs, guesthouses and independent small hotels.
Mark and Claire Higgs have been running the Castle at Edgehill since 2013.
Built in 1740 to the designs of Sanderson Miller, the castle sits where Charles I raised the standard for the battle of Edgehill. The historic building was refurbished in 2014.
Mark and Claire said: “We’re over the moon to hear that our inn with rooms has been selected as one of the finalists, and we’re really hoping we win. For us, it’s all about the customer and making sure they have the best possible experience, but it’s wonderful to know that we’ve been recognised for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes each day.”
The winners will be revealed at a black-tie ceremony in London in October.
