A helping hand for local groups

Charities and community groups have received a helping hand after grants totalling £18,901 were awarded by The Midcounties Co-operative from its Community Fund.

Cruse Bereavement Care Oxfordshire’s donation will go towards the costs of training courses for counsellors.

Other groups that were awarded grants include Yellow Submarine Holidays for people with learning disabilities in Oxon, Banbury-based Sajid Wyaid and Imran Shah Football Club, Chipping Norton Lido Ltd and Chipping Norton & District Cricket Club.

A total of 12 good causes in Oxon were each presented with a donation of up to £2,000 at the Midcounties Co-operative food store in Botley.

Groups and charities in Oxon are being urged to apply for the next round of the Community Fund. The closing date for applications is February 12.
