Help get district Clean for Queen

A call has gone out to schools, businesses and community groups to help get the district gleaming for Her Majesty's 90th birthday.

The Clean for the Queen campaign was launched across the UK last week, inviting organisations to take part in the biggest ever litter pick in March.

Groups including parish councils, Scouts and Brownies are being urged to join schools, businesses and public bodies in undertaking clean-ups of their areas, including a national litter pick on March 4, 5 and 6, ahead of Her Majesty’s birthday in April.

The initiative is being backed by Cherwell District Council (CDC), Banbury Town Council and North Oxon MP Victoria Prentis.

Banbury Town Council leader Kieron Mallon said: “If lots of people pull together and tackle a small area they really can make a big difference to the district.”
