A care home in Banbury is inviting the community to a free event for people caring for those living with Parkinson’s.

The team at Highmarket House, in Banbury’s North Bar Street, will open its doors for its Parkinson’s Awareness event from 2pm to 4pm, on Thursday, September 13.

Banbury Parkinson’s Society chairman Mick Terry and community neurology specialist nurse Nicola Findlay will share their wisdom at the home on North Bar Place.

Care home manager Julia Joy said: “Here at Highmarket House, we strongly believe professional knowledge, insight and shared experiences can make a real difference to the everyday lives of those looking after a loved one living with Parkinson’s.

“The aim of the event is to help people discover approaches to caring for loved ones and to support them to lead independent and fulfilled lives.

“We are looking forward to welcoming local people for what promises to be another interesting and inspiring afternoon of information and guidance.”

There will be support and helpful tips on improving life for those affected by Parkinson’s, as well as a chance to discover the local support and services available across Banbury.

After the event, there will be a Q&A session.
