A graphic and internet design company in Bloxham has offered a part-time job to a previous user of Banbury Young Homelessness Project’s (BYHP) Unlocking Potential programme.

The Arguement by Design is run by John Jackson and the business teamed up with the charity to provide opportunities for young people who attend BYHP’s services in Chandos Close.

Aaron is a previous user of the charity, and after initially starting on work experience he was offered a part-job by Mr Jackson, who saw his potential as a designer and website developer.

Mr Jackson said: “Aaron come to me after completing the Unlocking Potential Programme to do work experience. Initially it was just for a few weeks, but it soon became clear that he had a lot of potential. At the end of the six-week period I offered him a part-time job.

“Aaron plays a vital part in running the business. I have come to rely on him being here. Without BYHP I would never have found Aaron and without him I would struggle to run the business as efficiently as I now can.”

The Unlocking Potential programme is the charity’s employability course and helps young people like Aaron gain work experience to get their life back on track.

Since the start of his placement, Aaron has achieved a number of qualifications, started to learn graphic design trade and earn a wage.
