The Banbury Community Action group will hold a free Give or Take event next month.
Following two highly successful events in 2014, Banbury CAG is gearing up to hold another for the benefit of the whole community.
This is a great opportunity for people to drop off unwanted but re-usable items which are in good condition, including small electrical items, and/or take away something else which you will find useful. Clothes, books, DVDs, toys, other home and garden items are all welcome. You do not have to bring something to take something away and everything is free.
Left-over items will be kept for future events, offered to local charities, recycled, or as a last resort, sent to landfill for disposal. Please only bring items which are re-usable, non-hazardous and clean.
There will also be lots of community groups present such as Incredible Edible seed swap and gardening advice, Visit Banbury, Freegle Live, Cherwell DC Recycling Team, Chipping Norton Green Gym and the Big Brew café where you can enjoy hot and cold drinks and home made cakes.
The first ten people attending the seed swap can claim a free bag of compost to take away.
The event will take place from 11am-1pm at the Marlborough Road Methodist Church on March 7. For more information contact email@example.com find @banburyCAG on Twitter or www.facebook.com/BanburyCAG
Banbury CAG is part of a network of more than 50 groups across Oxfordshire working in the community to combat climate change. Projects in the town last year included the creation of a community orchard and working with BYHP to cultivate a kitchen garden.
More volunteers are needed and the group meets monthly at Ye Olde Reindeer.
