Girlguides from across Banbury paraded through the town centre on Sunday as part of their St George’s Day celebrations.
Rainbows, Brownies and Guides all gathered in Broad Street for the event, before being led by the Shires Youth Band up the High Street and towards St Mary’s Church on Horse Fair for a commemorative service.
The guides were joined by 1st Grimsbury Scout Troop, deputy town mayor councillor Margaret Cullip and the divisional commissioner for Girlguiding Oxfordshire.
Catherine Blackburn, assistant leader at 1st Deddington, said the day was a success. She said: “All the girls were really pleased with how it all went. We were incredibly proud the county commissioner was in attendance and there were lots of people coming out of the shops along Parsons Street and the High Street to see what was happening and taking pictures. It was very positive.”
It is hoped the event can be a regular fixture in the Girlguides calender
