There may only be 12 hours to go, but there is still time to vote for Banbury in a competition to find the most loveable and likeable town in the UK.

International online booking platform Hotel Info set up the competition to look for the most loveable or liveable small to medium-sized town in the country, with Banbury up against towns such as Durham, Lancaster and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Our beloved town is some way off Ramsgate’s total of 1,103 vote despite a sudden surge in voting took Banbury past the 650 mark on 672.

But with the deadline set at midnight tonight (Tuesday), time is running out to help Banbury overhaul its Kent rival to be named the country’s most loveable town.

The 30 towns selected have to meet a certain criteria, with all having less than 60,000 inhabitants and boasting tourist attractions such as a historial institution or town centre.
