Stunning autumn scenery around a Banburyshire village has been captured by a walking group.

Dave Woodman and his wife Chris created Banbury Friends about two months ago to organise walks through villages to suit all ages and capabilities. Members gathered in Hanwell on Thursday for a peaceful stroll throughout the village before enjoying a light lunch.

Brenda Difford, who is a member and keen photographer, said: “Some of us who have joined the group love our photography and show our effort on the group’s Facebook page, which attracts ex-pats living in Italy, Spain, USA and Australia.

“So far we have walked Broughton Castle, Wroxton Abbey Grounds and the villages of Hornton and North Newington. More villages will be included in the future.”

Banbury Friends also offer a service for people who live away from the area by visiting and photographing their old house/ cottage or a village area they remember.

The group plans to hold a reunion every six months at Banbury’s General Foods and Social Club in May and November, with ex-Banbury residents travelling from Spain, Italy and the USA.
