Friends and family of Kyle Byfield gathered at Broughton and North Newington Social Club yesterday (Sunday) to celebrate the 23-year-old’s life following his death.
Mr Byfield died at the Horton General Hospital on April 16 and to pay tribute to the Manchester United fan, his friends and family came together to put on a football fundraiser to raise funds for funeral costs and other charities.
Those playing football on the day paid £10, with specatators paying £5. Also on the day was a raffle with a host of great prizes.
They included a Virgin hot air balloon ride for two, meal with champagne at a hotel on Park Lane, London, photography shoot vouchers with Emma Collins and a signed Birmingham City football shirt.
Banbury businesses also lent their support to the raffle, including AKA, Frankie & Benny’s, Spiceball Leisure Centre and Lakeside Bowling.
Natasha Capell, 26, of Jubilee Court, Banbury appeared at Oxford Crown Court charged with Mr Byfield’s murder on April 21.
She wil reappear back at the same court on July 17 to enter a plea.
