From November 28 until January 10 inclusive, Cherwell District Council owned and operated car parks will offer free parking every day from 3pm so Christmas shoppers can take advantage of what’s on offer in Banbury and Bicester.

Cllr George Reynolds, Cherwell’s deputy leader said: “This Saturday sees the start of the council’s free car parking offer.

“I hope everyone will take advantage of this and come into Banbury and Bicester to see what the towns’ traders have on offer for Christmas and the New Year.

“Additionally the free parking initiative is set to prove a boost for Small Business Saturday on December 5, which the council is supporting.”

Participating Cherwell District Council car parks will be clearly signed.

Council operated parking not included in the free offer will be clearly marked at the payment machines.

Car parks exempt from the free parking offer are at Spiceball Leisure Centre, Compton Road, the Bridge Street drop off point and Spiceball Park Road which is currently closed.

All other regulations remain in force and between 8am and 3pm usual parking charges apply.
