Four arrests following serious assault in Bicester

The victim, a 38-year-old man was walking in Market Square during a night out when he was approached by three people; two men and a woman.

The group then assaulted the victim.

Police believe that a third man, who may not have been with the group, also kicked and punched the victim, who sustained numerous cuts and bruises, as well as a fractured eye socket.

The victim was treated at the Horton General Hospital and has since been discharged.

There is no description of the offenders at this stage of the investigation.

Investigating officer, Det Sgt Mike West of Force CID based at Banbury Police Station said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicous to contact police so we can bring the perpetrators of this unprovoked and serious assault to justice.

A 26-year-old man, who is from Bicester, and the 28-year-old man, who is from Oxford, have been released on police bail until 12 May. The woman, who is from Bicester, has been released on police bail until 2 July. Meanwhile, the 21-year-old man, who is from Bicester, is still in custody.
