WRAP funded the £25,000 publicity campaign during the spring which saw South Northants Council test campaign material such as social media adverts that were seen by more than 40,000 people, bin stickers reminding people that food waste should not go in their black bin, mobile and static billboards, and takeaway container lids with campaign messages.

As a result South Northants Council collected 747 tonnes of food waste, up from 607 tonnes during the same period last year. The number of food waste caddies ordered by residents also rose by 170 per cent.
