The doors will open on four newly renovated apartments in Banbury which will give interested buyers the chance to view the finished product for the first time.

Cherwell District Council will host a special open day on Saturday, August 8 at 2 Broughton Road to showcase the results of an 11-month refurbishment project. It is only the second time the apartments have gone on show the public.

Councillor John Donaldson, Cherwell’s lead member for housing, said: “This is the latest in a long line of sites which are being regenerated as part of Cherwell’s award-winning Build! project which is working to transform ugly eyesores into beautiful homes.

“Many people may remember this site as the former Connexions office and would be amazed to see the transformation that has taken place over the last year.”

The property dates back to the 1900s and was renovated by FSG Property Services based in Milton Keynes. It now encompasses two one-bedroom apartments on the ground floor, a further one-bedrom apartment on the first floor and a two-bedroom apartment which extends across the first and second floor.

Each of the apartments comes with its own entrance hall and bathroom, with a mixture of open plan and separate living, dining and kitchen space. Off street parking is provided for each apartment and there is also a communal garden with bike storage.

Councillor Donaldson said: “The apartments are in a prime location and offer all character of a period period property but with a modern fit-out. We are expecting a high level of interest so would encourage people to book early as places are limited.”

Prices are still to be confirmed but are expected to be in the region of £140,000 to £170,000.

All of the homes are being marketed as part of the council’s Build! project which aims to provide affordable housing opportunities across the district, primarily through the renovation of brownfield sites.

Priority will be given to those currently living, working or with existing family connections in the district and wanting to live in the properties as their own homes.

The open house event takes place from 10am by pre-booked appointments only. Visit or call 01295 221501.
