Banbury Firefighters took time away from their normal duties on Saturday as they organised a charity car wash for the Firefighters Charity.

The event was to help reach a target of £100,000, with the funds going towards helping serving and retired firefighters. Those who brought their cars to be washed could also buy some homemade cakes on the day, and the Cope Road Station hope to organise more events throughout the year.

Five firefighters from the station will be joining a group of 20 from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service as they take part in a bike ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats next year.
