Celebrated children’s author Roald Dahl would have been 100 years old on September 13 and to honour him parties were held across the world.
One such celebration was at Farthinghoe Village Hall where adults and children alike dressed up in their favourite Dahl inspired characters.
Organised by fashion designer Betse Bragg, the event featured giant lollipops, a giant peach, various foods including frobscottle and snozzcumbers and genuine Wonka Bars.
Children were also treated to a reading of the Twits and there was a golden ticket in one of the Wonka Bars.
Mrs Bragg, who hails from Turkey, had not been brought up with the books of Roald Dahl but discovered him later in life.
Mrs Bragg said: “I was not aware of him as a child. I came here and worked as an au pair and read his stories to the children I looked after.
“His stories are some of the best if not the best.”
