Groups and organisations in Deddington have been given a welcome cash boost by the village’s farmers’ market. Despite the torrid weather on Saturday, volunteers at the market were on hand to give cheques ranging from £100 to £400 to 19 groups from their profits this year. Stephen Gladman, chairman of the market, said: “It is an important thing for us to know the money is going to something good because some of the groups are not well-off so the money could buy more equipment or a speaker.” Groups included the primary school, village youth club and library.
