Take a walk among the tombstones this Easter with Odyssey Theatre’s interpretation of the hit musical version of The Addams Family.

This new take on a modern classic, which features musical scores by acclaimed composer Andrew Lippa, will run for three days at Wykham Theatre, Banbury.

“I have wanted to stage this show since I first heard that Andrew Lippa was adapting it for the stage. It’s a classic Broadway musical with a twist and I hope that our audiences enjoy watching it as much as we have all enjoyed putting it together.”

Director Andy Aldcroft

It tells the macabre story of fearsome favourites Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Fester, Grandma and Lurch as they meet Wednesday’s new boyfriend and his family.

The hilarious show guarantees an evening of entertainment for all, with its fantastic music and talented cast.

The production team – consisting of Andy Alcroft, Kieron Galliard and Sharon Green – enjoyed runaway success last year with their production of West Side Story and hope to replicate that with Odyssey’s latest show.

A not-for-profit group that was set up by five theatre enthusiasts, Odyssey aims to give adults and young people the opportunity to get involved in local productions. Director Andy Aldcroft said: “I have wanted to stage this show since I first heard that Andrew Lippa was adapting it for the stage.

“It’s a classic Broadway musical with a twist and I hope that our audiences enjoy watching it as much as we
have all enjoyed putting it together.”

“Our focus is on having fun, while putting on a high quality amateur show.”

Performances of The Addams Family run from April 9-11 at Wykham Theatre.

Tickets are £10 (£7 concessions) and are available online at www.odysseytheatre.co.uk or on 01295 267342.
