As the weather is warming up it could be the perfect time to go along to a classic car gathering – with or without a vintage drive of your own.
Andrew Newman of Middleton Cheney took these photos at The Butty Run earlier this year; an event which usually takes place on the first Sunday of every month at the Long Itchington Diner from 10am-noon.
He occasionally attends classic car events in his 1977 GMC pickup truck ‘Loretta’ – that he imported from Mississippi – along with his son Oliver who has an ex-U.S. AirForce Chevrolet truck.
Mr Newman said: “One we enjoy is a Sunday morning at the Long Itchington Diner where you can enjoy a breakfast baguette amongst a superb mix of American, Hot-Rod and other classic vehicles along with fellow petrolheads.”
The meet regularly attracts a mixture of about 30 to 60 hot rods, customs, yanks, classics, VWs and bikes. All are welcome and there is no club or membership.
The meeting was started in March 2006 and has been growing ever since. After sampling the culinary delights of the diner, there is usually a cruise to a local event.
