An elderly woman was left seriously injured after she was hit by a car in Banbury Cross retail park, Lockheed Close on Bank Holiday Monday.

The 73 year-old was walking back to her car in a car park next to the Poundland store at 11am when a grey Landrover Discovery turning right at a junction collided with her.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was taken to Horton General Hospital where she is currently undergoing treatment.

Police constable Russ Mizon from Banbury police station said: “We are appealing for further witnesses to this incident, due to the time of day and it being a bank holiday the retail park would have been very busy.
