Driver dies in collision on A361 near Chipping Norton

A male driver has died following a collision in Chipping Norton on Friday.

It happened on the A361 Banbury Road at about 2.40pm and involved a Mitsubishi Shogun and a goods vehicle.

The male driver, who was driving the Mitsubishi, was pronounced dead at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed.

A female passenger in the Mitsubishi and a male driver from the lorry was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by ambulance. The fire service also attended.

The road was closed in both directions for some time as officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the collision.
