Donation will bring festive cheer for young homeless

Dorchester Living has given the Banbury Young Homelessness Project (BYHP) an early present this Christmas with a donation of £2,000.

Jeanne Evett, sales and marketing director at Dorchester Living, had the pleasure of handing the cheque to Tim Tarby-Donald, CEO of BYHP.

The donation will assist the charity in its fundraising, the provision of a festive meal at Christmas as well as support young people in the year ahead. BYHP is a registered charity that exists to support and assist vulnerable young people aged 13 – 25 in finding and maintaining a safe home from which they may be assisted to determine their own opportunities in life.

This is done through:

The provision of free, confidential advice, information and support services to young people in housing need

Lobbying to increase the availability of emergency and move-on accommodation in partnership with housing providers, voluntary and statutory organisations

Developing a range of services to support young people in securing and maintaining housing

Involving young people in the planning, development and delivery of services

BYHP is asking those who wish to show their support for the charity through fundraising, to use easyfundraising. Shop online from over 2,700 retailers and they’ll give a donation every time you buy something, at no extra cost.

Jeanne said: “The winter and Christmas time are particularly difficult times for homeless people and we are proud to be able to support such a project and the fantastic work they do. We look forward to continuing our support for the charity in 2017 through various fundraising and awareness initiatives.”
