Michele Mannion has organised The Mighty Quiz at Also Known As bar in Parsons Street on Tuesday, April 17, to help towards research as her father Tom has dementia.

“We’re losing a piece of our dad every day, some days it’s a good day and some days it’s a bad one,” she said.

Tom, 85, used to live in Banbury but is now in a nursing home in Birmingham with his wife of 60 years, Lucy, after being diagnosed with dementia.

Michele, who still lives in Banbury, decided to do something to help towards research and thought a quiz would be a good idea.

The management at AKA provided the venue and Michele has had generous donations for the raffle, including meals at Siam House and Voujon, massages and a £100 cash prize from the family.

“It’s just lovely as everyone can see the impact on the family and everyone is rallying around as much as they can,” Michele said.
