Woman threatened and verbally abused in Banbury car park
A woman suffered verbal abuse and threats in a Banbury car park while she helped her elderly neighbour go into a supermarket.
Thames Valley Police received a report at around 11.45am Saturday July 10 of a public order offence in Ruscote Avenue, Banbury.
Police said that a woman reported being verbally abused and threatened by a man, and that no arrests have been made.
An investigation is underway and anyone with information or any witnesses to the incident are asked to contact Thames Valley Police on 101 or make a report online, using the reference number 43210305308.
The victim, who spoke to the Banbury Guardian, said a man shouted profanities at her from his car window in the car park of a local business as she was helping her elderly neighbour out of the car and into the supermarket.. The man verbally threatened the victim in front of many shoppers.
The victim, who is not being identified for public safety, said: "I was terrified of him following me. I hid from him whilst the police took information of the verbal assault and threat to harm me. He frightened me to the point where I was severely shaken and asked members of the public for help. I was simply helping out a friend."
