Woman sexually assaulted in Banbury after a night out in town

A woman has been sexually assaulted after an evening out in Banbury.

Thames Valley Police said that the victim, a woman in her fifties, was waiting to cross the road in Cherwell Street at the junction of Bridge Street, opposite Kwik Fit, at about 12.15am today (Sunday), when an unknown man approached her from behind before sexually assaulting her, touching her inappropriately over her clothing.

The offender is described as a white man, in his fifties, with short cropped mousy hair, with a long face and a long nose.

Investigating officer, PC Lucy Henderson-Slater said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim who was enjoying an evening out in Banbury.
