Woman escapes would-be robber during incident in Bicester

A woman managed to escape a would-be robber during an incident in Bicester.

Thames Valley Police are looking for witnesses in the attempted robbery in Bicester.

The attempted robbery happened last week around 6.30pm on Wednesday 1 July.

The incident occurred after the victim, a woman in her 20s, was walking along Town Walk East in Bicester when she was approached by a man from behind who grabbed her neck and tried to take her phone from her hand.

The victim fought off the offender and ran away from the scene. She was left with marks on her neck, but did not require any hospital treatment.

No property was stolen during the incident.

The offender is described as a man about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a slim build, olive skin and black hair. He was wearing a zipped tracksuit top and trousers.

Investigating officer Harmohinder Padam, based at Banbury police station said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or anyone who believes they saw a man matching the description in the area at the time to please get in touch.
