Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a theft in Banbury.

Between 7pm and 7.30pm on Friday (December 19), the victim, a 45-year-old man, was walking in Cromwell Road when he was beckoned over to a black Volkswagen car by the occupants of the car.

The front seat passenger of the car asked the victim for a cigarette and as the victim reached into his pocket, the offender reached into the other pocket and stole the victim’s black Samsung Galaxy S4 mobile phone and bank card.

The victim was not injured.

The offender is male, Asian, aged 20-25 years old, of athletic build, with black hair and facial hair.

The driver of the car is male, Asian, aged 20-25 years old, of medium build.

There was also a rear seat passenger who was an Asian man, aged 20-25 years old, larger than the driver and front seat passenger.
