A Banbury man pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer at Banbury Police Station when he appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court.

James Thomas Crain, 65, of Springfield Avenue, Banbury pleaded guilty of assaulting the officer at Banbury Police Station on February 4. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay compensation of £40. He was further ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £50.

Michael Joseph Hellyar, 49, of Brantwood Drive, Banbury pleaded guilty to drink driving in a Vauxhall Meriva car on Queensway, Banbury on February 16. He had 40 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Hellyar was fined £80 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and £40 court costs. Hellyar was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Nathaniel George Sabin, 22, of The Green, Shutford pleaded guilty to drink driving in an Audi A3 car on Hennef Way, Banbury on February 16. He had 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Sabin was fined £400 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40 and £85 court costs. He was disqualified from driving for 20 months.

Adrian David Smith, 32, of Goodrington Close, Banbury pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour. He was conditionally discharged for six months, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £21 and court costs of £45.

Florin Haralambie, 47, of West Street, Banbury pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified in a Vauxhall Vectra in Windrush on November 14, 2019. Haralambie was subjected to a community order to include 60 hours of unpaid work. He was ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. Haralambie was also disqualified from driving for 20 months. He also pleaded guilty for driving without insurance. A separate penalty was not made.

Giorgi Sotiri, 26, of Gibbs Road, Banbury was fined £100 for speeding in a 30mph restricted zone on Woodstock Road, Oxford. His speed was 38mph. Sotiri was ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and received three points on his licence.
