A vehicle seized by police near Banbury became a drug matter yesterday (Tuesday).

The car was stopped by Thames Valley roads policing officers and seized for having no insurance since September.

Officers then also arrested the driver for drug driving, after providing a positive indication for cocaine on a roadside test.

According to research there has been a marked increase in the number of charges being brought against UK drivers for drug driving since the introduction of the ‘drugalyser’ in 2015. The drugalyser tests an oral fluid sample.
