Three friends from Banbury given Covid-19 lockdown fines for driving 21 miles to Stow-on-the-Wold

Police fined three friends from Banbury today, Thursday January 14, who drove together 21 miles to Stow on the Wold.

Cotswolds Police with the Gloucestershire Constabulary issued £200 fines to each of the three people for breaking Covid-19 lockdown rules.

Cotswolds Police issued the following statement about the fines via their Twitter feed: "Three friends who had driven 21 miles to Stow on the Wold from Oxfordshire have been fined £200 each for breaking lockdown rules. Officers stated that they had no reasonable excuse to be in a car together so far from home."

Officers with the Cotswolds Police confirmed the three friends had travelled from Banbury.
