Police are looking for information in an incident of arson near a South Northamptonshire village.

Two crews of firefighters were called to reports of a car and caravan on fire in a field near Byfield early this morning, Wednesday October 28.

The fire happened in a field off Boddington Road around 3am.

A car and caravan were severely damaged by the fire.

Crews of firefighters from Daventry responded with assistance from another crew from Warwickshrie Fire and Rescue Service.

The fire was extinguished using two hose-reel jets.

A spokesperson for the Northamptonshire Police said: "We believe it was deliberately set on fire and are investigating it as an incident of arson."

No one was injured in the fire.
