Regional: Another arrest in golden toilet theft case at Blenheim Palace

Thames Valley Police has arrested a man in connection with an incident of burglary which occurred at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock.

Police have arrested a 44-year-old man from Kent on Thursday June 18 on suspicion of burglary.

He has been released under investigation.

The arrest is in connection with a burglary, which occurred at Blenheim Palace, in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, in September 2019, when a golden toilet was stolen.

Police have already arrested six other people in connection to the golden toilet theft and burglary at Benheim Palace.

A 35-year-old man, a 34-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, all from Oxford, were arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a burglary other than a dwelling.

A 66-year-old man from Evesham has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

A 35-year-old man from Cheltenham has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle.

A 35-year-old man from London was been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

All of these people have been released under investigation. The investigation is ongoing.

The high value golden toilet was stolen during the burglary in the early hours of Saturday, September 14.

Police believe a group of people used at least two vehicles during the burglary, which was reported to Thames Valley Police at 4.57am on the Saturday.

No one has been charged yet in the ongoing investigation.

Police are still looking for missing golden toilet.

According to previous Banbury Guardian reports, the installation, entitled America, was created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan. Its value has been estimated anywhere from £1M to £4.8M.
